Application Information

November 2012: The Housing application is available online.

Students must apply for admission to the University before applying for housing.
However, they do NOT need to be accepted by University Admissions before applying for housing.

All applicants are encouraged to apply early and utilize the online application and credit/debit card payment feature to ensure a prompt, accurate application and immediately verifiable payment.

The date your completed application is received by Housing & Residential Life is the first and most important criteria that will determine your final room assignment.

Late January 2013: Room Reapplication

Current residents begin the Online Room Reapplication process for the 2013-2014 academic year.

March 1, 2013: Living Learning Community Request for incoming first-year freshmen

Priority deadline for assignment to Living Learning programs. However, some Living Learning Communities may fill prior to this date and are assigned in date order or academic department preference. Students applying after March 1, 2012 may not receive a Living Learning assignment, but will be assigned if space is available.

April 15, 2013: Tentative housing rates for 2013-2014 available online.

Final rates will be available in mid-summer.

May 1, 2013: Incoming first-year freshmen

Last day to apply for a guaranteed University Housing space. The application-contract and $25 non-refundable Housing Application Fee must be received by Housing & Residential Life or postmarked by May 1, 2013, to be eligible for guaranteed housing. We recommend that you apply online.

Payment Information

May 15, 2013 (DEADLINE): Returning Students

Housing Guarantee Payment of $200 must be received by Housing & Residential Life or postmarked by May 15. Failure to submit the $200 Guarantee payment will result in the cancellation of your 2013-2014 assignment/guarantee. This payment will appear as a credit on your student account in late August.

May 15, 2013: Returning Students

Last day to get a refund of $200 Housing Guarantee Payment for a contract cancelled before May 15. Cancellations after this date will result in the forfeiture of the $200 Housing Guarantee Payment for returning students.

 

May 15, 2013 (DEADLINE): All New Incoming Guaranteed Students

Housing Guarantee Payment of $200 must be received by Housing & Residential Life or postmarked by May 15, 2013. Failure to submit the $200 Guarantee payment will result in the cancellation of your 2013-2014 assignment/guarantee. This payment will appear as a credit on your student account in late August.

August 7, 2013: All New Incoming Guaranteed Students

Last day to get a refund of $200 Housing Guarantee Payment for a cancelled contract by August 7. Cancellations after this date will result in the forfeiture of the $200 Housing Guarantee Payment new incoming students.

Assignment Information

July 31, 2013: Assigned students

Notification of room/apartment assignment and roommate(s). Depending on the guaranteed housing numbers, some students may receive their final room assignment in mid-August.

Move In Dates

August 15, 2013: All students assigned to University apartments - Mark G. Yudof Hall, Roy Wilkins Hall and University Village

Move-in for fall semester 2013 begins at 8:00 a.m.

Aug. 26-27, 2013: First-Year Freshmen assigned to Residence Halls:

Move in for fall semester 2013 begins at 8:00 a.m. Residents will be assigned a move in date and time.

August 31, 2013: Returning Residents, Transfer Students and all other non-incoming First-Year Freshman assigned to Residence Halls

Move-in for fall semester 2013 begins at 8:00 a.m.
