OAs work 10-15 hours a week, usually in 2 to 4 hour shifts between 7:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. Monday through Sunday.

What do OAs do during their shifts?
Most duties are clerical/customer service. Do OAs have to live in the hall where they work?
No. Applicants should know something about the residence hall/apartment complex they wish to work in, but they do not have to live there.

Can OAs do homework while they work?
Although there is some downtime during shifts, most shifts will keep you busy the entire time you are there. When there is absolutely no work at hand, Office Assistants are permitted to read or do homework.
