Housing & Residential Life Guidebook
Welcome to University housing at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities campus
The Housing & Residential Life staff are pleased that you have chosen to be part of our residential community. As a member of this dynamic community, you will have many opportunities for involvement in campus life. We encourage you to take advantage of these opportunities. Whether you choose to participate in your Community Council, or the Residential Housing Association (RHA), attend a program, join an intramural team, or work in one of our residence halls or apartments, your on-campus experience will be further enhanced through your involvement.
As you read the following pages that detail Housing & Residential Life services and policies, be mindful of your responsibilities as a member of our community. Our goal is to create communities in each residence hall/apartment complex where students respect one another and the environment. You contribute to this community when you demonstrate respectful behavior, work collaboratively with fellow residents and your Community Advisor, abide by the policies, and choose to get involved and meet new people. For many of you, the experiences you have and the friendships you develop this year will last a lifetime.
The beginning of the semester is an exciting time for all students. As you adjust to the University, your new “home”, your classes, and for most of you, your new roommate(s), please feel free to call upon the Housing & Residential Life staff to assist you. We are excited to help make your living experience and your life as a University of Minnesota student a positive and rewarding one. We look forward to getting to know you, and we welcome you to our University housing community.
