Below is a list of changes to the guidebook

There have been changes to section 16 of the Contract Terms and Provisions in the Application Contract Book (page 25 of the paper copy of the Application Contract, view online here). Please read the updated version of section 16 below, which includes changes regarding cable TV service and loft information.

16. Utilities and Room/Apartment Furnishings

All utilities are included in the term room/apartment rate, with the exceptions of long distance telephone service, voicemail, and cable television. Air conditioning (where available) is seasonal and is determined in accordance with the long-range weather forecast.

Beginning fall semester 2010, cable television is provided in all residence hall and apartment rooms as a standard service. Students will not need to individually subscribe for cable TV. Additional information regarding UMN-TV can be found at http://www.resnet.umn.edu/cable.

Students who choose to utilize a University owned loft or bunk in an officially designated eligible room agree to use it in the intended manner, as indicated in the loft/bunk bed policy at www.housing.umn.edu/loftpolicy.

Students that use the Ethernet service (ResNet) and/or wireless connection must adhere to the policies and procedures in the University’s Acceptable Use Policy and the ResNet Agreement. Both documents can be found on the ResNet Web site at www.resnet.umn.edu/html/policy.html. All furniture, appliances, and window treatments are also included in the rate and must remain in the room/apartment. Storage is not available.
