The campus community is busy preparing for your arrival on campus.  As a reminder, your academic year meal plan begins with brunch/lunch on Saturday, September 1st.  However, should you be on campus prior to moving into your residence hall, we wanted you to know that your Flexdine will be activated for your use beginning on Monday, August 27th.  Many retail dining locations will be open on campus between August 27th and September 1st should you be interested in getting a bite to eat. 

Important Move In Directions

Due to major construction, street closures affecting campus, and regular university traffic utilizing fewer available routes, please review this information to help you have a smoother move back to campus.

Arrival Time

We ask that you please arrive sometime within 90 minutes after your move in time. This will help with traffic both inside and outside your hall. Your move in time is listed on your Online Move In Guide.

Directions

Campus maps are located at http://www1.umn.edu/pts/maps/index.html 

Northbound on I-35W:  Follow I-35W to I-94. Continue on I-94 to Highway 280. Go north and exit on Larpenteur Avenue. Turn right on Larpenteur and right on Cleveland Avenue. Campus is on your left.

Southbound on I-35W:  Exit at Cleveland Avenue. Head south on Cleveland to Larpenteur Avenue. Campus is straight ahead.

East and Westbound on I-94:  Follow I-94 to Highway 280. Go north and exit on Larpenteur Avenue. Turn right on Larpenteur and right on Cleveland Avenue. Campus is on your left.

Westbound on Highway 36: Exit at Cleveland Avenue. Head south on Cleveland to Larpenteur Avenue. Campus is straight ahead.

Use Cleveland Avenue to arrive on the St. Paul campus.  Proceed down Buford Avenue and follow it around to the back side of Bailey Hall.  You may either utilize the unloading areas at the meters near the St. Paul Gym Field or you may unload in the circle behind the building.  Due to potential congestion in the back circle, we expect about half of the Bailey students to unload near the meters. 

Unloading and Parking

One person must stay with your vehicle at all times.  We have Move In Volunteers to assist with monitoring personal belongings while you get your keys in the lobby of the building.  The driver may proceed to the longer term parking area as soon as your items are unloaded.  There are moving carts available near the back entrance to the building to help with moving your belongings.  

After you have unloaded the driver will be directed to move the vehicle to longer term parking in parking lot SC175 located about one block north of Bailey Hall on the west side of Cleveland Avenue.  This parking lot has been reserved for Bailey Hall student move in on August 28th  and 29th. There is no fee or permit required to park in this lot.
