Transfer Students

Beginning fall semester 2013 Housing & Residential Life will guarantee a limited number of transfer students on campus housing. Due to the demand for student housing on campus and the “housing guarantee” for incoming first-time freshman students, on campus housing is limited for incoming transfer students. This fall approximately 200 spaces will be reserved for transfer students. Priority will be given to students who select and are admitted to one of our Transfer Student Living Learning Communities. After that, priority will be based on a students completed housing application. See below for additional information.

Transfer Student Living Learning Communities:

  • CFANS Transfer Community
  • CSE Transfer Community
  • Leaders In Transition

We encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible. Students must apply for admission to the University but do not need to be accepted before applying for housing.

Students who are guaranteed housing will get a guarantee email/letter from housing and will be required to submit a $200 housing guarantee payment. Students who are guaranteed and submit the guarantee payment by the requested date will be assigned by July 31, 2013. Students who are not guaranteed will get a waitlist letter by July 19, 2013.

For more information about the assignment process please visit or contact Housing & Residential Life at or by phone at 612-624-2994.
